We're Growing to Meet the Need in our Community.
In the last three years, the number of women served in our program has grown 122% - that’s 50% growth in the last year alone!
We went from serving 209 women in 2020 to 464 women in 2023. And in that time we have grown from one to three locations in southern New Brunswick, now serving Saint John, the Kennebecasis Valley and Charlotte County.

Triumph Over Adversity
"I had heard about Sophia Recovery Center from a beautiful soul who had amazing things to say about it. I first walked in the doors late December 2022 with almost seven years of sobriety from alcohol, but little recovery. I arrived with an extensive amount of trauma, grief, deep pain from my childhood, and life in addiction.
Although I was alcohol-free for several years, I was not getting to the core of my addiction issues or healing the trauma and pain that caused me to drink in the first place. I knew I would finally have to face everything and get well.
When I arrived a few months ago I was on a leave of absence from my job, in so much pain, and new to Saint John; I felt so alone. Since then, I have gotten involved with trauma recovery group work and one-on-one counseling along with meditation and art.
Sophia Recovery Centre has been an amazing gift to my life. Now, I’m back to work and healing more each day. I have made several new bonds and friendships with so many other women. Sophia has helped me completely turn around my life and build a more positive one."
