SMART Recovery Meetings
SMART Recovery is a science-based, self-empowering program that helps women overcome addictive behaviours through weekly group meetings.
Facilitated by trained Peer Support Workers, meetings focus on four key areas: building motivation, coping with urges, managing thoughts and behaviours, and living a balanced life.
Sessions are open to women aged 16 and older, held in person at Sophia Recovery Centre locations in Saint John and Sussex, with a weekly virtual meeting available.
All meetings are free and provide a supportive, non-judgemental space for connection, reflection, and growth.
Side by Side
Side by Side is a recovery-focused program for women, led by Peer Support Workers and volunteers.
It offers personalized one-on-one and small group outings and activities designed to build social connection, promote community engagement, and enhance overall wellbeing.
Each outing is thoughtfully designed around the Eight Dimensions of Wellness -emotional, social, spiritual, occupational, physical, intellectual, environmental, and financial - ensuring a holistic, person-centred approach to recovery.
Text Connection
Text Connection is a free, supportive messaging service for women in recovery, offering weekly affirmational texts, helpful resources, and updates about upcoming events at Sophia Recovery Centre—delivered directly to your mobile phone.
Messages are crafted to uplift, educate, and inform, providing a quiet moment of support and reassurance that you’re not alone.
Participation is voluntary, and guests can opt out at any time by replying “STOP.” Sign up during intake or complete a short consent form.
The program is open to all current and new guests of Sophia Recovery Centre.
